Xu Rong is a Boss in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. Xu Rong in Wo Long is a Enemy NPC type boss. Xu Rong is a special hostile character that is encountered alongside Sun Jian mid combat. Xu Rong can be encountered during the following mission/s The Battle of Hulaoguan Pass in Wo Long Fallen Dynasty.
Xu Rong fought battles across the land alongside Lu Bu as Dong Zhuo's main force. With extraordinary feats of bravery, he was able to force the coalition to make a temporary retreat. Xu Rong showed his true mettle as a Liaodong warrior but was put on the back foot after the protagonist entered the battlefield.

Wo Long's Xu Rong is a Enemy NPC Boss found in The Battle of Hulaoguan Pass.
- This boss is not optional for you to progress through the Mission
- Reinforcements will not join you by default, but are available for this mission.

- Players encounter Xu Rong engaged in combat with ally, Sun Jian. You can aid him by defeating Xu Rong, but he does not join you as a Reinforcements during this mission. His defeat will also not result in his death, and he will offer some additional dialogue after his defeat.
Wo Long Fallen Dynasty Xu Rong Lore
Xu Rong is a warrior hailing from Xuantu Commandery.
He served under Dong Zhuo as General of the Court Gentlemen. He recommended Gongsun Du, who was from the same commandery as him, to become the Procurator of Liaodong Commandery. This, however, eventually led to Gongsun Du gaining political independence from Dong Zhuo. Once the anti-Dong Zhuo coalition was formed, Xu Rong received orders from Dong Zhuo to go to war. He performed many great deeds such as wounding Cao Cao at the Battle of Bian Shui River and decimating Sun Jian's army when they fought in Liang County. In Romance of the Three Kingdoms, he is depicted as being involved in a vicious battle with Cao Cao's forces, but there is no mention of him fighting against Sun Jian's army.

In awe of the protagonist's strength after being defeated by his hand, he pulled back from the battle. Xu Rong eventually defected to Wang Yun after Dong Zhuo's assassination but was later betrayed and killed in battle by his comrades.

He has basic melee combat actions and can dodge or back step, but since you are fighting alongside Sun Jian, it will not take long before he is defeated. Approach him aggressively to quicken the results of this battle and move on with the rest of your mission.
