Gan Ning Fight Strategy Wo Long

The Best Wizardry Spells, Martial Arts and more for Gan Ning:

  • Equip the Ice Weapon spell to remove any Burn effects that could have been inflicted from the arena.
  • Use Wizardry Spells related to wood will help overcome the Earth elemental strengths from the Soaring Ursine Mace Attack Bonus stats.
  • For extra precaution, players can equip the Cleanse spell in order to alleviate the potential effects from the arena.

Gan Ning is a Boss that moves quickly, so players are recommended to respond with equal aggression to minimize chances of retaliation. Gan Ning relies mainly on his fists and kicks and a number of quick martial art sequences performed in swift combos as he aggressively advances. He has a few larger AoE attacks that can be dealt upon landing or smashing his fists on the ground, and a few special aerial charged attacks where he can lunge down to the ground quickly. You will need to quickly react to his attacks as they come by blocking or dodging them. Having a companion for this fight is especially helpful so they can take some of the focus from you.

Make large attacks that will quickly deplete his health. This will also deplete the Spirit gauge, opening up more opportunities to attack. Prepare to parry, dodge, and block his special moves to build up your own spirit bar to avoid exhausting it. If you approach aggressively with your own combos, you will be able to stagger him and interrupt his attacks.

So to make the human bosses that already suck to fight against even more painful you give them constant hyperarmor. Great design choice.
