Chivalrous Warrior of Donglai Walkthrough

First & Second Battle Flag

Immediately after completing A Dark Tide Rolls In, you'll find yourself at the Shentingling Hills accompanied by Sun Ce. Head forward and your First Battle Flag can be found before the bridge, on the right. Cross the bridge afterwards and two Soldiers will by found right ahead. Underneath the wooden structure on the left, there'll be five Arrows. Continue forward to fight two more Soldiers, and again on the left will be another item.

Up ahead, there'll be a bridge on the right. Head towards it, then fight the three Soldiers and one Assassin. After they've been defeated, you can raise the Second Battle Flag for 3 Fortitude. Before heading up the stairs, look back and beyond a tree to wall, where you'll see a white marking signaling that you can jump up here. Turn right at the top and jump up onto the next ledge to find a piece of the Curse Star of Hejian Set and two more Soldiers. Jump up onto the wooden structure here to grab the Flying General's Bow.

Third Battle Flag & a Marking Flag

Return to the Second Battle Flag and climb up the stairs. There'll be a Chang Gui at the top. After defeating it, circle around the stone wall to your left, and you'll find another white marking you can jump up at. Jump over to the next wooden platform ahead to find a General-in-Chief's Seal and two Demon Spiders. Jump back across and cross the bridge. Be careful about halfway as some of the wooden planks of the bridge will break. However at the end, you'll find your First Marking Flag, giving you 1 Fortitude.

Jump down towards the well and defeat the Chang Gui patrolling the area. When facing the hut here, there'll be a red chest to the right that contains the Spear of the Hegemon-King. Go up the stairs to the left of the hut. Defeat the Soldier, then go forward towards an arch to find a Soldier and Assassin. On the ground nearby on the left is another item. Pick it up and when you head forward, you'll find the Third Battle Flag on your right on top of the hut earlier. Interacting with it will give you 2 Fortitude. You can drop or climb the hole in the roof down into the hut to find a chest containing a General-in-Chief's Seal and a Dire Tiger. The door to this hut can also be unlocked from this side, opening up a small shortcut.

Climb back up the ladder and head through the tunnel made of corrupted vines down the pathway on the right. At a larger opening, you'll have to fight two Suan Yu. In this area, there's an item in the grass on the left and two Throwing Knives behind a tree on the right. If you continue forward, you'll eventually find a Shigandang in a ruined wooden structure.

Head down the stairs and before crossing the bridge, turn right to find an Imperial Seal of the Celestial Empire guarded by a lone Wolf. Backtrack and cross the bridge. You'll find another Soldier at the end. Turn right and about halfway across the wooden walkway, there'll be a ladder you can kick down to open up a shortcut back down to the First Battle Flag. Continue up the slope and stairs to get to a village-like area.

Shitieshou & a Marking Flag

As you enter the area, immediately look to the left to find a Talismanic Water by the stone wall. An Assassin will drop down on you when you pick it up. After defeating him, return to the entrance of the village. You can enter the hut on the left, but will only find three Demonized Fanatics within. Continue forward, but before you go up the stairs to the upper level, go right instead through an alleyway. You'll get to the backyard of another hut. Defeat the two Soldiers in the area, one outside and one inside the hut. Afterwards, you can find a Shitieshou inside the hut to offer metals to.

Exit the hut and jump up the cliff ledges across the way. At the top, defeat the Soldier in the corner. To the left of the ledge you used to get up here, you can find a chest that contains a Yellow-Shouldered Crossbow. When you look down to the right of where the soldier was sitting, you'll find the Second Marking Flag on the right, which increases your Fortitude by 1 when interacted with. On the opposite side of the main path from here, you can jump up onto the white roof to find an item on the other side.

Fourth & Fifth Battle Flag and a Marking Flag

Continue up the main path towards the arch and stairs going up. Before heading up however, jump up the ledges on the right to find a Large Genuine Crystal and a piece of the General of Man Set behind some small crates. Head back down and go up the stairs going forward.

At the top, you can find two Bear Gall within some small crates behind the small tent on the left. Behind the small tent next to it, you'll find a piece of the Loyal Drunk Set in a red chest. At the base of the next set of stairs, you can activate the Fourth Battle Flag for 2 Fortitude.

When you reach the top of the stairs, you'lll be invaded by Zhang Ying. You'll have a bit of time before they get to you, so activate the Third Marking Flag here for another bit of Fortitude. Eventually, Zhang Ying will come running down from the next set of stairs going upwards. Ascend the stairs after defeating him.

You'll reach a courtyard. Defeat the Wolf and two Soldiers, then activate the Fifth Battle Flag for 3 more Fortitude. When you're ready, interact with the double doors to start a boss fight.

Boss: Taishi Ci

After the cutscene ends, you'll face Taishi Ci in battle. He'll start the fight with 20 Morale. This boss features strong melee and ranged attacks, but it is recommended to stay in melee range as they are easier to predict and avoid. One move in particular to watch out for is when he shoots an arrow in the sky and a barrage of arrows rain down on you. The location these arrows will land will be highlighted on the floor, so keep moving while they're falling to avoid getting hit.

Taishi Ci doesn't have extra moves at half health or a second phase. For more tips and tricks on countering his specific moves, please visit individual boss page. When defeated, he'll drop some pieces of the Fidelity Set. He'll retreat in a cutscene and the mission will end, granting you two Anti-freeze Soil, a Shigandang, a Jianchu Long Sword, and Warfare Classics.
