Guan Yu is a Reinforcement in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. Guan Yu is a reinforcement aligned to the Earth element, who also reduces the amount of damage received. Reinforcements are characters that may accompany you during Missions. They assist you dealing with your Enemies and Bosses you encounter along the way. They also provide unique passive bonuses to the players thanks to their Warrior Effects.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Guan Yu Lore Information

Guan Yu, courtesy name Yunchang, hails from Xie County, Hedong Commandery. After committing a crime as a youth, he fled to Zhuo Commandery, and there, he swore a joint oath with Liu Bei and Zhang Fei to take down the Yellow Turbans terrorizing the citizenry. Now serving Liu Bei, he and Zhang Fei are reputed as "Rival of the Masses," as each are considered to be worth a legion of soldiers alone. Guan Yu is also famous for his long and impressive beard (with some calling him "Ser Magnificent Beard") and is widely respected for his loyalty and righteousness.

Continuing his service to Liu Bei, Guan Yu fights battle after battle against the Yellow Turbans in You Province and Ji Province. Ending up at the Yellow Turban base in Guigugou Valley, he meets the protagonist, and together they head to its innermost cave and encounter Zhang Bao conducting a mysterious ritual. The General of Earth is defeated by the group after he turns into a demon, and Guan Yu and Zhang Fei, amazed by the protagonist's personality, swear an oath with him. The two continue fighting until the rebellion is subdued, and their exploits lead to the promotion of their lord, Liu Bei, to Prefect of Anxi County in the State of Zhongshan. It was a short-lived appointment after Liu Bei resigned in disgust upon encountering a corrupt inspector, and the three sworn brothers took to wandering the land once again.

Dong Zhuo's reign of terror was opposed "by a coalition of lords from Guandong centered around Yuan Shao, with Guan Yu's lord Liu Bei also joining the effort to slay the tyrant. At the Battle of Hulaoguan Pass, the three sworn brothers took on the mightiest general Lu Bu who was serving Dong Zhuo. However, Lu Bu fended them off before fleeing on the horse Red Hare. According to The Romance of the Three Kingdoms, the fearsome Hua Xiong, a Dong Zhuo general who had vanquished multiple coalition generals, was cut down by Guan Yu after a single exchange. Apparently the heated liquor Cao Cao offered Guan Yu before the duel had not lost its warmth when he returned.

Liu Bei, having lost his territory in Xu Province to Lu Bu, joins forces with Cao Cao, who is already locked in conflict with the mightiest general. However, he comes under attack from Yuan Shao and his whereabouts become unknown, prompting Guan Yu to join Cao Cao's forces to help him locate his sworn brother. He serves Cao Cao as an honorary general at the Battle of Guandu and works with the protagonist to vanquish Yuan Shao's elite generals Yan Liang and Wen Chou. It turned out that Liu Bei was being held by Yuan Shao's forces, and so Guan Yu leaves Cao Cao's service and rescues his lord. Acts like this are why he is hailed across China as a paragon of valor and loyalty.

 

 

How to Unlock Guan Yu in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty

Guan Yu is first encountered in the mission, The Valley of the Crying Wraiths. After this, he is unlocked.

 

How to Summon Guan Yu

• Players have to spend x1 Tiger Seal in order to summon Guan Yu.
• Guan Yu can be summoned at any Flag while completing Missions, but note that not all Reinforcements are available for all Missions.

 

How to Deepen your bond with Guan Yu

Players have to spend x1 Cup of Cordiality to deepen their bond with Guan Yu. Spending a Cup of Cordiality on Guan Yu upgrades the player's Oath Level by one. It caps at level 10 in which it changes to Sworn Brother. 

When players reach Oath Level 5, they unlock Guan Yu's second Warrior Effect.

Once players reach Sworn Brother status with him, they receive:
